Requirements and compatibility
Review MK Theme requirements before installation, including PHP compatibility, companion plugins and optional integrations.
Check the WordPress and PHP versions before installing the MK package. The four components are included with an MK Theme purchase, but they have different roles. The versions below identify the package described in these guides.
Package versions and compatibility
Package reference: MK complete package 0.3.273, published October 10, 2026. Local release checks used WordPress 7.1.3 with PHP 8.3.23; the checks cover their recorded workflows, not every feature on every host. The declared minimum versions below come from the theme and plugin headers; complete feature coverage on every older WordPress release has not been established.

Compatibility: Confirm the versions listed with your purchased package before installing. Back up an existing site and check the key workflows after activation, especially when using an older WordPress release.
What each workflow needs

Optional integrations
Elementor is needed only for the Elementor widgets and dynamic tags provided by some MK components. Standard WordPress editing and the basic setup path do not require Elementor or Elementor Pro.
External film-data and video services may require their own keys, available feeds or network access. A video appearing in a movie field does not guarantee that its source permits playback in every country or for every viewer. See Video availability for the supported checks.
WooCommerce runs the Framepress store. You do not need WooCommerce on the WordPress site where you install MK Theme unless your own site uses it for another purpose.
Installation and purchase connection
You need administrator access to install the theme and plugins. MK Setup can install the included companion plugin ZIPs from the packaged theme after you confirm the WordPress installer actions. The main download ZIP is a container for the installable ZIPs; extract it before uploading the theme through WordPress.
Direct Framepress serial verification needs the site to reach the Framepress service. The basic theme display remains available if the service is temporarily unavailable. The current MK Setup does not yet connect Envato purchase codes; the bundled packages remain available for installation from the purchased main ZIP.

Current Studio widgets and Article tools
The Studio Video Grid uses existing movie video URLs through the shared player. It requires MK Studio, compatible MK Theme and movie data; it does not require YT Sheet feeds/profiles. Journal uses ordinary WordPress Posts. Search can cover Movies, Posts or both.
Article AI content tools operate in the Post editor. AI requests require supported provider integration, credentials, model access and explicit provider-call consent. Article/Movie SEO additionally requires a compatible active Yoast SEO or Rank Math environment. Manual editing and local previews do not require an AI request.
Native Elementor widgets
MK Studio provides eight native FramePress widgets with Elementor Free or Pro. Use MK Studio 0.7.305 with MK Theme 0.3.273 for the current documented renderers and player support. Movie widgets need published MovieKit data; Posts / Journal uses ordinary Posts. YT Sheet is not required for Studio Video Grid. MovieKit 2.9.72 also provides its own MovieKit Profile widget with Elementor Free. See Studio Elementor widgets and MovieKit Profile.
