MK SYSTEM / DOCUMENTATION

Choose a movie template

Compare MK Theme movie templates using the same film, then choose a global layout or a per-movie override.

MK Theme offers three current movie page layouts: Classic Hero, Poster Review and Video First. Use one movie for this comparison so the change in presentation is easy to see.

Set the site default

  1. Open MK Studio → Movies → Settings and expand Manual Settings.
  2. Turn on Enable Movie Templates.
  3. Choose Classic Hero under Default Movie Template and select Save Settings.
  4. Open the movie you created in the first movie guide. Its page should now use the site default unless the movie has its own selection.

Change just one movie

  1. Edit that movie and find the MK Movie Options box.
  2. Under Movie Template, choose Poster Review, update the movie and preview it.
  3. Repeat with Video First. If this movie has no usable video source, the layout can still be inspected, but playback is not part of this comparison.
  4. Choose Inherit global (Classic Hero), update the movie and confirm that it follows the site default again.

Classic Hero emphasizes a cinematic backdrop, Poster Review puts the poster and review together, and Video First leads with a video area. Older saved layouts may appear as legacy values on existing sites; choose a current layout for new pages.

Movie Template and Movie Layout are separate

Movie Template chooses the presentation. Movie Layout chooses Full width, Boxed, Sidebar right or Sidebar left for that movie’s content container. Each can inherit its own global default. See the MK Movie Options field reference for all editor fields, opening modes and video source priority, and Supported video sources and Iframely for source-specific instructions.
