YT Sheet Sources

YT Sheet sources describe where a video dataset comes from and how to build it for use in a grid.

Location: WordPress admin → YT Sheet → All Sources or Add New Source. A Source describes where videos come from. Most types produce a saved dataset by running Build now, which a Profile can then display.

Save, build and update

  1. Open Add New Source, add a descriptive title and select Source type. Fill in the fields shown for that type.
  2. Select Publish. Build is disabled while the Source is a draft. The first build uses saved values.
  3. Select Build now and inspect the resulting item count, built time, size and any error. Fresh means a dataset cache exists; it does not validate external video playback.
  4. After changing an input, select Update before Rebuild. The build action reads saved settings, not unsaved form edits.
  5. Use Clear cache only when you want to remove the built dataset and build again. A WP Source can also show Outdated after mapped content or settings change.

For WP Source, Auto rebuild can be Manual, Hourly, Twice daily or Daily. Automatic schedules rebuild dirty datasets through WordPress cron; the timing depends on the site’s cron execution. Some source types show their own cache controls and status. A Video Overrides tab can appear after a cache is built.

After building a Source, check the final grid against your own source data and playback URLs. Provider Sources also require valid credentials and public content.
