MK Studio Movies
Location: MK Studio → Movies. Reference for MK Studio 0.7.300 and MK Theme 0.3.268.
Movies controls MovieKit movie presentation. Regular WordPress Posts belong to Pages & Posts. Publish a movie with its poster, plot and video first, then configure its presentation here.
Settings
Enable movie templates, choose the default template and movie layout, and select visible elements such as poster, backdrop, overview, review, people and action buttons. Set the watch button label, video opening mode and source priority. Save the tab, then open a published movie to check the result. A missing poster, trailer or external ID cannot be created by enabling its display toggle.
Templates
The current main layouts are Classic Hero, Poster Review and Video First. Follow the template guide for their visual roles. A movie’s editor can override the global template, layout and video settings; a saved override explains why one movie differs from the global default.
Article Header
Choose whether the article title, author, published date, updated date and comment count appear. Global visibility can be inherited or overridden for an individual template. Article Header here is the header of the movie’s editorial content, not the ordinary Post editor.
Archives
Enable movie archive overrides to configure movie and MovieKit taxonomy archive cards. Otherwise archives inherit Pages & Posts → Blog / Archives. Choose Classic List, Card Grid or Portrait Grid, image source, columns, posts per page and card gap. Configure card elements, movie facts and separate badge positions. Review rating, runtime and certification badges on the actual archive after saving.
Search bar visibility can differ between the main movie archive, taxonomy archives and a submitted search/filter view. WordPress category/tag behavior is a separate setting from MovieKit’s structured taxonomy archives.
Design
Design target determines scope. Shared Movie Style affects all templates; a named template changes that template’s design. Review this choice before changing colors or spacing. This does not create an individual movie color override. Check more than one movie after saving a shared design.
